DDP Shipping Benefits

Summary:

We ship all orders DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). This means that all import duties, taxes, and courier handling charges are already included in the shipping cost you pay at checkout. You will not be asked to pay any extra charges upon delivery.

What costs apply when importing playing cards into the U.S.?

1. Customs Duties (Tariffs): Playing cards are classified under HS Code 9504400000. U.S. Customs currently applies a 15% duty rate on this category when imported.

2. Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF)

Under $2,500 (Informal Entry): Flat fee $2–$9 depending on entry type

$2,500 or more (Formal Entry): 0.3464% of customs value (Minimum $31.67, Maximum $614.35)

3. Courier Handling Fees: Express carriers such as DHL, FedEx, or UPS charge brokerage and DDP handling fees to process customs paperwork, advance duties to U.S. Customs, and complete clearance. These fees are included in the DDP shipping cost.

4. Duty Advancement Fees: When a courier advances duty and tax on behalf of the shipper, they may charge an additional “disbursement” or “advancement” fee. Under DDP, this fee is also included.

Example Import Costs

$100 order: Duty $15 + MPF $2–$9 + Courier $10–$50 → Total $27–$74

$3,000 order: Duty $450 + MPF $31.67 (min) + Courier $10–$50 → Total $491.67–$531.67

DAP (DDU) vs DDP

DAP/DDU (Delivered At Place / Duties Unpaid): Buyer pays duties, MPF, and courier fees upon delivery. May lead to extra cost and delays.

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): Seller pays all duties, MPF, and courier fees in advance. Buyer receives the shipment directly with no extra charges, faster delivery, and smoother experience.

Why DDP Is Better for You
  • No surprise charges – the price you see at checkout is the final cost.
  • Faster delivery – customs clearance is handled before the shipment arrives.
  • No risk of refusal – you won’t be asked to pay extra at delivery.
  • Smoother experience – we take care of all paperwork and payments on your behalf.
Final Notes for Buyers

- The shipping fee displayed at checkout includes all customs duties, MPF, and courier fees under DDP.

- If you prefer to arrange customs clearance yourself (DAP/DDU), please contact us in advance. However, be aware that you will then be responsible for all charges and possible delivery delays.
